Pounamu (New Zealand Greenstone) pendant

Pounamu pendant, inanga kete.

Īnanga is a whitish, pale grey-green or creamy-colored variety of greenstone.

The three lines on this tāonga (cultural treasure) represent the three kete (baskets) of knowledge, commonly called te kete tuauri, te kete tuatea and te kete aronui: the Kit of sacred knowledge, the Kit of ancestral knowledge and the Kit of life’s knowledge.
